Kyle Korver is the oldest player on the Cavaliers roster. At 37, he’s only four years younger than Cleveland coach Ty Lue.
His age hasn’t slowed him in these NBA playoffs, though, and Korver provided another needed lift off the Cavs bench Monday night in a 111-102 win over the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. Korver scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting and added four rebounds and three blocks.
Korver’s contributions in Game 4 belied his age and impressed his coach, so much so that Lue appeared to forget just how old Korver actually is.
“He’s 37 now? God dang,” Lue said when reminded in the postgame press conference. With a laugh, Lue added, “We played him too many minutes. We need him though.”
