Seattle trifecta: Russell Wilson, Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf went off in concert in the overtime thriller against Tampa Bay. Falling behind 14-0 helped the passing cause, but the Seahawks’ trifecta had huge numbers. Wilson was an ungodly 29-of-43 for 378 with 5 TDs. Lockett was targeted 18 times, catching 13 balls for 152 yards and 2 TDs. The rookie Metcalf also was in fine fettle, catching six passes for 123 yards and a TD.
Mike Evans, TB: On the other hand, Mike Evans was fabulous in the loss. The former Texas A&M star caught 12 passes for 180 yards and a TD while being targeted 16 times.
Emmanuel Sanders: The Niners made a savvy acquisition in grabbing the WR from Denver. Emmanuel Sanders has immediate chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo. Sanders caught seven passes on nine targets for 112 yards and a TD as the Niners remained perfect. Garoppolo was no slouch, himself, going for 317 yards passing and a quartet of TDs.
Kenyan Drake: Speaking of savvy pickups, Kenyan Drake came to the Cardinals from Miami early in the week and went off against SF on Thursday. The RB from Alabama rushed for 110 yards and a TD and caught four passes for 52 more. Great pickup.
