Jane Fonda is done changing her body.
“I can’t pretend that I’m not vain, but there isn’t going to be any more plastic surgery — I’m not going to cut myself up anymore,” she told Elle Canada for their March issue, before taking a “pained pause” and adding, “I have to work every day to be self-accepting; it doesn’t come easy to me.”
Now, Fonda, 82, said she enjoys poking fun at herself and lifting the curtain on her insecurities on social media for others to see.
“I try to make it very clear that it has been a long and continuing struggle for me,” she said. “I post pictures of me looking haggard — and once with my tooth out!”
Fonda memorably clashed with Megyn Kelly back in 2017, when the former NBC host asked the “Grace & Frankie” actress about her plastic surgery. However, Fonda has openly discussed her decision to go under the knife, as well as her decades-long battle with bulimia.
She has since turned her eye towards collective action and activism, vowing to stop shopping and re-wearing the same red jacket to her Fire Drill Friday climate change protests.
