Kit Harington’s favorite “Game of Thrones” scene with his wife is surprising, to say the least.
The actor filmed many memorable scenes opposite Rose Leslie, while the two played onscreen love interests Jon Snow and Ygritte, but Harington’s favorite is when she met her untimely death during the Battle of Castle Black in Season 4.
“I liked her death. I know, it sounds bizarre,” Harington told People. “I thought she nailed that. And it’s the first time in ‘Thrones’ that slow motion was used and I think it’s a beautiful, cradling moment as this battle is raging in the background. It was one of those incredible shots.”
In the emotional scene, Snow cradles a wounded Ygritte in his arms until she dies. Her last words to him: “You know nothing, Jon Snow.”
Harington and Leslie, both 32, met on the set of the HBO fantasy series in 2012, and their onscreen chemistry was apparently so good that the couple took the love plunge in real life.
The co-stars confirmed their real-life romance by appearing on the red carpet of Britain’s Olivier Awards in April 2016 and announced their engagement in the traditional way in the Times of London in September 2017.
Harington and Leslie married in June 2018 during a ceremony at the bride’s ancestral castle in Scotland. Guests included the pair’s co-stars Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke.
